Commencement and Move Out Road, Parking and Transit Impacts Thursday, June 5 through Monday, June 16, 2025

UC San Diego will host multiple Commencement ceremonies Friday through Sunday, June 13–15, with student move out beginning Thursday, June 5. Expect:

  • Road closures
  • Parking lot closures and restrictions
  • Campus shuttle (Triton Transit) detours and service adjustments

All impacts are subject to change based on traffic conditions and attendance. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we celebrate the Class of 2025!

Move-Out Impacts Thursday, June 5 through Thursday, June 12

Loading zones will be activated in these locations to support student move out (in select spaces unless otherwise noted).

Parking Lots: P304, P310, P401, P402, P406

Parking Structures:

  • Pangea Parking Structure (Levels 4–5)
  • Scholars Parking Structure (Level B1 visitor spaces)
  • Theatre DistrictParking Structure (Level 1)

Campus Streets:

  • Pharmacy Ln.
  • Innovation Ln.
  • Justice Ln.
  • International Ln.
  • Scholars Ln.
  • Scholars Dr. North and South

Parking Lot Closures

  • Wednesday, June 11: P357, P359 and P309 close at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 12: P357, P359 and P309 closed all day; P701 closes at 6 p.m.
  • Friday–Sunday, June 13–15: Major closures include P701, Gliderport (P386), P704 and Hopkins Parking Structure

Road Closures and Traffic Changes Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 15

Friday, June 13

  • Hopkins Dr. (Northpoint Dr. to Voigt Dr.): Closed 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.  
  • Voigt Dr. (west of Pepper Canyon Dr.); Closed 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.—access limited to ADA guests or move out
  • Scholars Dr. North and South: Northbound traffic only
  • Torrey Pines Scenic Dr.: No street parking, intermittent one-way traffic control

Saturday, June 14

  • Pepper Canyon Dr.: Access limited to ADA guests or move out
  • Hopkins Dr. (Northpoint Dr. to Voigt Dr.): Closed 3–11 p.m.
  • Voigt Dr. (west of Pepper Canyon Dr.): Access limited to ADA guests or move out
  • Voigt Dr. (east of Hopkins Dr.): Access limited to move out only 7 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Innovation Ln.: Access limited to campus shuttles and residents with special access passes
  • Torrey Pines Scenic Dr.:  No street parking, intermittent one-way traffic control 

Sunday, June 15

  • Pepper Canyon Dr.: Access limited to ADA guests or move out
  • Hopkins Dr. (Northpoint Dr. to Voigt Dr.): Closed Sunday 6 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Voigt Dr. (west of Pepper Canyon Dr.): Access limited to ADA guests or move out

Transit Impacts Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 15

Friday, June 13

  • Inside and Outside Loop Shuttles rerouted to exclude Seventh College and Warren stops. Stops added on Pangea Drive.
  • SIO Shuttles rerouted to exclude Naga Way and Kennel Way stops. Stop added in P003.
  • MTS Route 985: Detoured

Saturday–Sunday, June 14–15

  • All Triton Transit routes suspended
  • Special commencement shuttle service will operate campuswide
